8-10. REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF TRIM TAB BELL CRANK.
a.
Remove small access plate under bell crank.
b.
Disconnect push-pull channel from aft end of bell crank.
c.
Disconnect links from front end of bell crank. To maintain elevator trim control system rigging, clamp
links so actuator screw cannot turn and clamp elevator trim control wheel so it cannot turn.
d.
Remove bell crank pivot bolt and remove bell crank through access hole.
e.
Reverse this procedure to install bell crank.
8-11. TRIM TAB ACTUATOR.
8-12. REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION.
a.
Relieve tension on elevator trim control system by loosening an elevator trim cable to turnbuckle in the
right tail boom.
b.
Loosen chain guard and disengage chain from actuator sprocket.
c.
Disconnect links from aft end of actuator screws.
d.
Remove bolts clamps and spacers securing actuator and remove actuator through access hole.
e.
Reverse this procedure to install the actuator. Rig the elevator trim system in accordance with
paragraph 8-13.
