power system for starting and operation of electrical
equipment when the aircraft engines are not operat-
ing.

TROUBLE SHOOTING THE BATTERY SYSTEM.
PROBABLE CAUSE
ISOLATION PROCEDURE
REMEDY
BATTERY DOES NOT SUPPLY POWER TO BUS WHEN MASTER SWITCH IS ON.
Check specific gravity of battery.
Gravity reading should be at
least 1. 256 for 75% charge at
normal temperature.
Faulty battery cable.
Defective battery contactor,
master switch or wiring.
Inspect cables for good connec-
tion.
Activate the solenoid by short-
ing to ground the side of the con-
tactor coil that connects to the
master switch.
Charge or replace battery.
Check
charging rate of alternators.
Clean and reconnect.
Replace
cable.
If contactor operates check
master switch and wiring.
If contactor does not operate
check jumper wire to coil.
Replace contactor.
