4.2 Start Up
4.2.1 Preliminary Operations
Before switching on the instrument, perform the following operations and checks:
1. Set the controls as indicated:

VOLTS/DIV

COUPLING
TRIG.ALT
LEVEL LOCK
HOLDOFF
TRIGGER MODE

Connect power cord to power input connector [47], then connect it to an AC line
outlet suitable for the instrument previously set AC line voltage, and then continues as
follows:
1. Press the I/O switch [9]. The POWER led [8] will be on. In about 20 seconds, a
trace will appear on the CRT screen. If no trace appears in about 60 seconds,
check the switch and control setting (previous table).
2. Adjust the trace to an appropriate brightness and image with INTEN [2] and
FOCUS [4] control knob respectively.
