MDI/MDI-X Button
The MDI/MDI-X button, located on the front of the unit, is a straight-through
or crossover cable selection feature. It allows you to connect the RJ-45 port to
a repeater or DTE device without using a special crossover cable. The default
position is MDI-X (OUT), which means you can connect the RJ-45 port to a
workstation or to any other DTE device using a straight-through cable.
Table 2 Status LEDs
Description
A link has been established on the port.
Data is being received on the port.
Indicates that the unit is operating in full-duplex mode.
Indicates that the unit is operating in half-duplex mode.
Power is applied.
The MissingLink feature is activated on the media
converter.
The MissingLink feature is disabled and the media
converter is operating in the link test mode.
