Initializing File System
The memory card in the GR-5 must be initialized before its
first use. Initializing your memory card while in the receiver
will ensure the card is formatted to the TPS proprietary file
system (TPFS). This file system allows the receiver to
create, store, retrieve, delete, and restore the raw data files.
It is also advisable to reinitialized the memory card
periodically (e.g., quarterly). This will erase any data on the
card, check for bad blocks, and set it up afresh.
To initialize the file system, run TRU, select File Explorer,
right-click (on a computer) or click and hold (on a controller)
within the file list on the Files tab and select Initialize File
System.
Initializing the file system of a connected receiver will erase
all of the receiver's data files.
Managing Receiver Options
The Option Authorization File enables certain functions,
features, and options in the receiver, such as the following:
• the type of signal (L1, L1/L2, and so on) the receiver
processes
• the amount of data the receiver stores in the memory
• multipath reduction technology
For a complete list of available options and details, consult
with a TPS dealer.
