• If it is necessary to isolate the HVSC downconductor from the structure, run the cable in
an insulating conduit with a minimum wall thickness of 3mm (1/8in.). The maximum
length isolated from the structure should be 2.5m (9ft). The entire length of the HVSC
downconductor cannot be run in insulated conduit.
• HVSC Downconductor should be protected from damage at the lower end by installing a
"Top Hat" surface mount cover of no more than 2m from ground level.
The HVSC downconductor must be checked by an LPI representative if it is damaged during
installation to see if the damage will affect performance.
