Purpose
The purpose of this operator manual is to present the descriptions and procedures
required to operate the Simrad ES70 in a safe and efficient manner.
It is not within the tasks of this manual to describe all functions and parameters in detail.
It is therefore also important that you study the other documents that are provided with
your system. For detailed descriptions of all functions and parameters, refer to the
Simrad ES70 Reference manual.
Get to know your echo sounder!
Your Simrad ES70 echo sounder is an advance and accurate instrument developed to
help you find fish. It is still easy to use as soon as you have familiarized yourself with the
menu system and the way you change parameters.
The ES70 comprises the following main parts:
• A colour display
• A computer
• One or more transceiver units
• One or more transducers
This manual will focus on the operational procedures and some theory. For additional
details, see the Simrad ES70 Reference manual and the context sensitive on-line help.
Click "Help"!
Installed on your Simrad ES70 you will find a comprehensive on-line help system.
You may not find it in your language, but everything you can read in the Simrad ES70
Reference manual can also be found in the context sensitive on-line help.
To access this information click on the menu, or the button in one of
[?] Title Bar [?]
the dialogs.
Note that when you open the help system it will place itself on the top of the display
presentation!
