Telephone voice operation

Applies to vehicles: with Telephone voice operation
Introduction
Telephone functions can be operated by voice operation.
Functions
In conjunction with hands-free operation it is not necessary to pick
up the cell phone. The telephone voice operation recognizes
commands and number sequences regardless of the person
speaking.
The voice operation offers you the following functions:
Creating name tags ⇒ page 60
Entering and dialing a phone number ⇒ page 59
The dialog is ended immediately when an incoming call is received.
Unrecognized voice commands
The systems reacts to your input with audible feedback. If a voice
command is not recognized, the system asks <Pardon?> and asks
you to repeat the command. After the third failed attempt, the
response <Cancel> is given and the dialog is terminated.
For the system to understand you
Speak clearly and distinctly at a normal volume. Speak louder
when driving faster.
Stress your statements evenly and do not leave long pauses.
Do not speak when the voice operation is responding.
To reduce ambient noise, close the doors, the windows and the
sunroof*. Make sure that passengers are not speaking when you are
giving a voice command.
Do not direct the air vents toward the hands-free microphone
that is close to the front interior lights.
Telephone voice operation
Only use the system from the driver's position since the hands-
free microphone is oriented toward that position.
<The Function is not possible>

operating status of the telephone voice operation

Is the cell phone connected to the cell phone package through
Bluetooth?
Is the cell phone in the cell phone cradle*?
Is the phone switched on and the PIN entered?

WARNING
Please devote your full attention to driving! As the driver, you
hold complete responsibility for safety in traffic. Only use the func-
tions in such a way that you always maintain complete control
over you vehicle in all traffic situations.
Because the voice can change in stressful situations and it may
not be possible to recognize numbers being said, the voice opera-
tion system should not be used in emergencies. The desired tele-
phone connection* may not occur quickly enough or at all under
certain circumstances. Dial the emergency call number manually
in emergencies.
