The voltages and waveforms shown on this diagram were obtained by using the following test set-up and
test equipment.
Voltage Measurements
Set the fron t and side panel controls for a vertically centered trace (TRIGGER/SLOPE set to AUTO
PRESET).
Input coupling switch to ground (GND).
Voltmeter common is connected to the instrument common.
Waveform Measurements
The 221 Oscilloscope under test: The vertical deflection is set to 1 V w ith a four vo lt square wave
connected to the probe tip , and the SEC/DIV switch is set fo r 0.5 m. The TRIGGER LEVEL/SLOPE set to
AUTO PRESET w ith a triggered display. Any change in the set-up w ill be noted on the photograph
(HORIZ-MAG 10X).
Test Oscilloscope
The test oscilloscope is internally triggered; the vertical deflection factor and horizontal tim ing is indicated
on the waveform photograph. The vertical input is AC coupled, so repositioning o f the display is not necessary
after checking difference test points. The tolerance o f the voltages and waveforms is 20%.
