Example 1: Suppose that you want to set time slot 3 to have robbed-bit signaling. All the bits in the
bit masks for n2 and n3 would remain set to zero. In the bit mask grouping for n1, to set the third bit
for time slot 3 (TS3) to one, specify a value for n1 of 0x04 (hexadecimal format). ISiCL accepts only
hexadecimal format, not decimal format. Table 6-3 gives the values to set time slot 3 to robbed-bit
signaling.

Example 2: Suppose that you want to set time slot 13 to have robbed-bit signaling. All the bits in the
bit masks for n1 and n3 would remain set to zero. In the bit mask grouping for n2, to set the fifth bit
for time slot 13 (TS13) to one, specify a value for n2 of 0x10 in hexadecimal format. Table 6-3 gives
the values to set time slot 13 to robbed-bit signaling.
Example 3: Suppose that you want to set time slot 23 on port 1 to have robbed-bit signaling. All the
bits in the bit masks for n1 and n2 would remain set to zero. In the bit mask grouping for n3, to set
the seventh bit for time slot 23 (TS23) to one, specify a value for n3 of 0x40 in hexadecimal format.
Table 6-3 gives the values to set time slot 23 to robbed-bit signaling.
The SET command line for Example 3 is:
:DCS:SET:RBS,1=0x00,0x00,0x40;
The syntax for the query command for one port is:
:DCS:CONFIG?:RBS,p;
The syntax for the query command for all ports is:
:DCS:CONFIG?:RBS;
A query command for all ports in Example 3, in which time slot 23 is selected for robbed-bit signaling,
would return this response with the hexadecimal time slot encoding for all ports.
