If you want to set a selected map to ON for testing purposes, such as to clear a circuit, click the option
for that map at Select Active Map. Setting the map to ON disables error detection and switching.
After the circuit is cleared, you should set the map to OFF by clicking the Automatic option.
You can also perform map switching through external contacts. At External Switching, you can
select a check box to enable any of the maps for this kind of switching. You then have to close a
contact switch (on the MA-251A adapter module) to actually trigger the external map switch.
To change the port and time slot settings in a map, perform these steps:
1. In the Configuration pane, on the Map Control tab (Figure 5-11), click Edit Maps. A progress
dialog box indicates that IntraGuide is communicating with the DCS and reading in the current
map configurations. Then the Edit CrossConnect Maps window appears. Figure 5-12 shows this
window with the initial defaults.
2. Select the map to edit from the Edit Map list.
3. To change the setting for one or two time slots
a. Right-click a time slot.
b. On the right-click menu, click Edit Time Slot.

Select the port and time slot that you want the current port and time slot to map to.
d. Click OK.
4. To change settings for groups of adjacent time slots
a. Select the time slots in a Receive column.
b. Drag and drop the selected time slots to move them to a Transmit column.
5. To save the new map configuration in a file, click Write File.
6. Click the map number, and click OK.
7. Enter a file name in the Save As dialog box, and click Save.
