For SPL170XL and SPL250XL, the
U-joint lube interval changes after the
initial lube at 350,000 miles. After
the first lube interval, the U-joint
needs lubrication every 150,000 miles.
Inspection of the U-joints is the same
regardless of when the U-joint grease
interval happens.
WARNING!
Improper lubrication of U-joints can
cause them to fail prematurely. The
driveshaft could separate from the
vehicle and result in an accident.
Make sure lubricant is purged at all
four ends of each U-joint and loosen
caps if necessary. Also, regularly
inspect U-joints for excessive wear
or movement, and repair or replace
as necessary.
Failure to comply
may result in death, personal injury,
equipment or property damage.
