6.1 Procedure steps

1. Configure MLT ports on the ERS 5600.
2. Configure LACP on the Hirschmann™ switches.

6.2 Test results

The following table shows the test results:

Autonegotiation ERS5600  Hirschmann™ (copper)
Ping PC1
PC2 (both directions, copper)
Partially fail MLT link (remove cable from port)
Recover the failed MLT link (plug cable back into port)

Notes
5. When configuring Link Aggregation on Hirschmann™ switches to interoperate with Avaya MLT,
"Allow static link aggregation" must be enabled.
6. Failing an MLT/Link Aggregation port only causes sub-second disruption in traffic.
However, recovering a failed MLT/Link Aggregation port disrupts traffic for 5-6 seconds.
