1 Safety precautions Correct use • The appliance is designed for use in the home for extracting cooking fumes and smells from above the cooking surface. • Any repairs, modifications or manipulations to the appliance, especially any electrically live parts, should only be carried out by the manufacturer, its Customer Services or similarly qualified persons.

Appliance description The appliance is used to extract cooking fumes and smells from a cooking area and is normally installed in an overhead unit. This particular model can be used in the extraction mode or the recirculation mode. Extraction model The integrated fan extracts cooking fumes and smells from above the cooking surface.

Switching on the appliance Pull out the glass shield. The extraction fans can only be switched on if the glass shield is slightly pulled out. The appliance operates most effectively when the glass shield is completely pulled out. Switching the extractor fan on/off Power level 1 ON: Press the button 1×.

3 Use Switching the illumination on/off To switch on: Press the button 1×. To switch off: Press the button again. Switching off the appliance Fully insert the glass shield. – This switches off the extraction fan and the illumination even if both are still switched on.
Care and maintenance Cleaning the housing Take care that no water gets into the housing! If water gets into the housing, it can cause damage. Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, steel wool etc. to clean the appliance as they can damage the surface. Remove screw fuse for appliance or switch off circuit breaker.
4 Care and maintenance Metal grease filter with integrated Long-life activated charcoal filter The filters can be cleaned and reactivated (activated charcoal filters). They must be cleaned at least once a month with normal use. The activated charcoal filters must be replaced after about 3 years because their ability to absorb smells will be reduced.

4 Care and maintenance Removing the grease filter Pull out the glass shield completely. Pull the grip flap 2 in the centre recess on the grease filter toward the back. – The grease filter 1 is unlocked and can be taken out toward the bottom. Cleaning the grease filter.
4 Care and maintenance Replacing the halogen light bulb Remove the appliance’s screw fuse or switch off the circuit breaker. Halogen light bulbs get hot during operation! Allow to cool down first. Pull out the glass shield completely. Remove the grease filter. Unscrew the halogen light bulb from the fixture and replace it with a new halogen light bulb of the same type (see designation on the light bulb hou- sing or on the identification plate).
