7. Troubleshooting

The Harvest by Meridian Grain Conveyor is a simple and reliable system that requires minimal
maintenance. In the following section, we have listed many of the problems, causes, and
solutions to the issues you may encounter.
If you encounter a problem that is difficult to solve even after having read through this
troubleshooting section, please call your local Harvest by Meridian dealer or our main office.
Before you call, please have this operation manual and the serial number from your machine
ready.
Problem
Conveyor will not run
Conveyor belt edge is fraying
Poor capacity
Leakage at the hopper
Leakage at the discharge

Cause
Conveyor belt loose
Drive belts loose
Drive belts worn or glazed
Belting frozen to the tube from
operating in high humidity
conditions in extreme cold
Conveyor belt is not aligned
Angle is too steep
Slow operating speed
Conveyor belt slipping
Flashing worn out or not
positioned properly
Belt Speed too high
Wiper worn out or not positioned
properly
Over feeding the hopper. Product
getting behind the belt.

Solution
Tighten and align belt
Tighten drive belts
Replace drive belts and adjust
tension
Clear away all snow from intake
end before start up. Run the
conveyor empty after use to
allow the belt to dry prior to shut
down
Realign conveyor belt
If possible, reposition with a
lower angle
Increase operating speed
Tighten and align the conveyor
belt
replace or reposition the flashing
reduce belt speed
Replace or reposition wiper
Reduce the amount of incoming
product
