Fan monitoring
Operation of the front / processor / power unit fans is monitored. The following reactions are
triggered when a fan fails:
Reaction
The fan LED switches to red
SIMATIC monitoring software is activated
The fan fault is retained in memory until the cause of the fan failure has been rectified and
the error is reset by taking one of the following measures:
● Acknowledgment of the error message by the SOM program or DiagMonitor software.
● Restart of the device.

RAID monitoring
In conjunction with the SIMATIC monitoring software and in addition to the RAID software,
the status of the RAID system is shown on the HDD1 alarm and HDD2 alarm front LEDs. For
detailed information on the RAID system and on the operation of the RAID software, refer to
the RAID section.
