Modifying BIOS Settings

To boot an open controller or install software, you may need to change
BIOS settings for the open controller system. Although the BIOS screens
for the 1747-OCE and 1747-OCF are significantly different, the
functionality remains basically the same.
This chapter shows you how to:
• modify BIOS settings for both the 1747-OCE (AMIBIOS) and
1747-OCF (General Software BIOS)
• save a set of BIOS settings to copy to another system
This chapter also lists and describes the factory-set BIOS settings for both
open controller modules.
Important: If you have a 1747-OCE you must have a good battery installed
to change BIOS settings. If you have a 1747-OCF, make sure
the battery enable jumper is in place and the battery is charged.
Otherwise, the BIOS settings revert to the failsafe settings.
To change the BIOS settings of the open controller, you need one of the
following configurations:
If you have:
1747-OCVGA1 or 1747-OCVGAE module, monitor, and keyboard
remote PC, serial cable, and terminal emulation software (no video or
keyboard connected to the open controller)
