Adjusting the standard installation procedure to load Windows NT on
the open controller
In most cases, you will not have a floppy drive or CD-ROM available when
loading Windows NT on the open controller, or you may have one and not
the other. The following sections describe how to load both MS-DOS and
Windows NT onto an open controller IDE hard drive given these hardware
limitations.
Loading MS-DOS and Windows NT without a floppy or CD-ROM drive
Requirements:
• remote PC with ability to boot DOS with a CD-ROM driver
• MS-DOS 6.22 floppy disks
• Windows NT Workstation 4.0 CD-ROM
• cables:
– serial boot cable (1747-OCSBC) and open controller serial adapter
(1747-OCS92)
– parallel cable and open controller parallel adapter (1747-OCP252)
• IDE interface module and IDE drive:
– 1747-OCIDE25 and a 2.5" IDE rotating drive, or
