• [Start Up Screens] button, [Start delay (secs)]
With the [Start Up Screens] setting [ON], a
screensaver is displayed over the initial screen after
the interval of time specified in the [Start delay
(secs)] box elapses. To input the start time, touch the
text box to highlight it, and then use the keypad to
type the desired value (range: 0 to 600). To apply the
desired start time, touch the [Apply] button.
For details about screensaver sizes and compatible
file types, see "[Screensaver]" (page 39).
• [Print Screen], [Start delay (secs)]
With the [Print Screen] setting [ON], a screensaver
is displayed when the system is printing after the
interval of time specified in the [Start delay (secs)]
box elapses. Only still images can be used as the
print screensaver. To input the start time, touch the
text box to highlight it, and then use the keypad to
type the desired value (range: 0 to 600). To apply the
desired start time, touch the [Apply] button.
For details about screensaver sizes and compatible
file types, see "[Screensaver]" (page 39).
• [Interval (secs)]
Time interval during which still images are
displayed (when several files are used as the initial
and/or print screensavers). To input the interval,
touch the text box to highlight it, and then use the
keypad to type the desired value (range: 0 to 600).
To apply the desired interval, touch the [Apply]
button.
• [Screensaver]
Touch the [Import] button to import files used as
screensavers by the system from CD-ROM or
"Memory Stick".
Notes
• You can use the following file formats for the
screensavers:.bmp for still images,.avi or .mpg
(MPEG-1 format only) file formats for movies.
• Up to four files can be selected for the initial
screensaver and the print screensaver.
• Still image or movie files used as screensavers
must be 1024 × 768 pixels. The file names must
be [Startup1.*] to [Startup4.*] for the initial
screen screensaver and [Printing1.*] to
[Printing4.*] for the printing screen screensaver
(where the asterisk (*) represents the .bmp, .avi,
or .mpg file extension). They must be saved in the
root directory of a "Memory Stick" or CD-R.
• [Notice Screens]
With this setting [ON], the notices (different from
warnings; e.g. backup media and scanner copyright
notices) are displayed when necessary. Touch the
setting button to enable ([ON]) or disable ([OFF])
the display of notices.
• [Photo library]
Touch this button to import or delete Photo Library
pictures. When you touch this button, a message
appears prompting you to confirm whether you want
to import or delete Photo Library data.
Note
The following file formats are compatible with the Photo
Library (up to a size of approximately 8000 × 6000
pixels):
– Exif version 2.1 or later (JPEG standard, file
extension: .jpg)
– BMP (uncompressed, 24-bit Windows format, file
extension: .bmp)
– TIFF (uncompressed, file extension: .tif)
Photo Library data can be imported from a "Memory
Stick" or CD-R. Place the Photo Library data in the
folder named "photolibrary" in the root folder of the
"Memory Stick" or CD-R.

the sales tax, and other price-related settings using the
numeric keypad.
