Assembling the incident light illuminator

Caution!
Ensure that the lamp housing has been disconnected
from the power supply. Unplug the power plug and the
power supply during assembly.
CAUTION
Light sources pose a potential irradiation risk (blinding,
UV radiation, IR radiation). Therefore, lamps may only be
operated in closed housing and in an installed condition.
Never look directly into the beam path (blinding hazard).

5.5.1 Assembling the LED lamp housing

• Place the lamp housing into the incident light lamp hous-
ing receptacle (Fig. 20) and fasten it with the side clamp-
ing screw.
Leica DMi8 M with manual incident light method:
• Connect the cable of the lamp housing to the port (Fig.
21.1) on the rear side of the microscope.
Leica DMi8 A and C with motorized incident light method:
• Connect the cable of the lamp housing to the power sup-
ply for transmitted light for the Leica CTR electronics box
("Lamp RL" port).

5.5.2 Assembling the fluorescence illuminator

Leica EL6000
See separate manual.
CAUTION
When using the Leica EL6000 compact light source, it is
essential to observe the safety notes in the separate in-
structions included.
CAUTION
Just switch on the light source once the light guide is
connected to the microscope.
Uncontrolled light output from the light guide poses a
blinding hazard!
There is also a burn hazard at the light guide output!
• Screw the Leica EL6000 microscope adapter onto the rear
side of the microscope in the lamp housing receptacle.
• Close the light guide according to the information in the
Leica EL6000 manual.
