The J8 Slot and Wait State switches should normally be set to their
Note:
OFF positions. The Windows 95/98/NT operating system required to run
the DriverLINX software provided with the PIO-12 board does not run on
a PC/XT computer or computers having 8 MHz system clocks. (Refer to
the descriptions below for more information.)
This switch block consists of two switches: the J8 Slot switch (switch 1)
and the Wait State switch (switch 2).
Setting the J8 Slot switch to ON enables the board to occupy the J8 slot of
an IBM PC/XT (the J8 slot is right-most on the PC/XT motherboard);
setting switch 1 to OFF (the default position) disables the slot option.
Setting the Wait State switch to ON enables a 500ns wait state, which
may be required in PCs having 8MHz system clocks. Setting switch 2 to
OFF (the default position) disables the wait state.
Interrupt levels are specified through jumper settings on the Interrupt
Level jumper block. Jumper positions 2 to 7 on the jumper block
correspond to IRQ2 to IRQ7, respectively. Position X (the default
position) disables the interrupt levels.
Configure the Interrupt Level jumper to conform to the interrupt assigned
when you ran the DriverLINX Plug and Play Wizard.
