11.2 BEFORE COMMISSIONING
WARNING
Do not put the boiler into operation if the supplied gas is not in accordance with the approved gas types.
Preparing the boiler for commissioning:
• Check that the gas type supplied matches the data shown on the boiler's rating plate.
• Check the gas piping to ensure it is sized and installed correctly.
• Check the hydraulic system to ensure it is sized and installed correctly.
• Check the water pressure in the heating system.
• Check the electrical connections to the thermostat and the other external controls.
• Check any other connections to the boiler.
• Test the boiler at full load (high-fire). Check the gas/air ratio (O
• Test the boiler at part load (low-fire). Check the gas/air ratio (O
• Finalize any outstanding work.
11.3 COMMISSIONING SETUP
WARNING
Only a qualified professional may carry out the following operations.
WARNING
Ensure that the boiler is switched off.
• Open the main gas supply.
• Open the gas shutoff valve on the boiler.
• Unscrew the two screws located under the front panel a quarter turn and remove the panel.
• Tilt the control box forward by opening the holding clips located on each side of the boiler.
• Check the gas supply pressure at the pressure outlet Pi on the gas valve unit.
• Ensure all gas connections are tight.
• Pressure test the gas line; the test pressure must not exceed 0.87 psig/60 mbar. Purge the gas supply pipe within the boiler by
unscrewing the pressure outlet on the gas valve. Tighten the port when the pipe has been sufficiently purged.
• Check all gas connections in the boiler are tight.
• Check the condensate trap — this must be completely filled with clean water.
• Check that there are no leaks from any of the water connections.
• Check the electrical connections, particularly the ground.
• Check the electrical connections to the thermostat and the other external controls.
WARNING
The boiler comes set for natural gas; if propane is to be used, the gas valve must be adjusted before turning on the
boiler.
• Tilt the control box upwards again and fasten it using the clips located at the sides.
• Open the main gas supply.
• Open the gas shutoff valve on the boiler.
• Plug the boiler into an electrical socket.
• Turn on the boiler using the ON/OFF switch.
• Set the controls (thermostats, control system) so that they generate a call for heat.
• The start-up cycle begins, this cannot be interrupted. During the start-up cycle, the display shows the following information: A
short test where all segments of the display are visible.
•
Fxx : Software version.
Pxx : Parameter version. The version numbers are displayed alternately.
• An air purge cycle is then automatically carried out for 3 minutes.
