8.14.2 Engine oil – Change
Preconditions
☑ Engine is stopped and starting disabled.
☑ Engine is at operating temperature.
☑ MTU Fluids and Lubricants Specifications (A001061/..) are available.

Designation / Use
Engine oil
WARNING
Oil is hot.
Oil can contain residue/substances which are harmful to health.
Risk of injury and poisoning!
• Allow the product to cool to below 50 °C before beginning work.
• Wear protective clothing, protective gloves and goggles/safety mask.
• Avoid contact with skin.
• Do not inhale oil vapor.
Version with extraction equipment: Engine oil extraction
1.
Position a suitable container to drain engine oil into.
2.
Use extraction equipment to extract all engine oil from oil pan.
Filling with new oil
1.
Determine amount of engine oil required for
oil change (→ Product Summary - Technical
Data).
2.
Open cover on filler neck.
3.
Fill engine oil in at filler neck up to "max."
mark on oil dipstick.
4.
Close cover on filler neck.
5.
Check engine oil level (→ Page 134).
6.
After oil change, bar engine with starting sys-
tem.
