Communication Gateway
User's Guide
The license can be updated when the customer needs a new set of protocols. To do
that, order a new license and update it with the Communication Engineering Tool's
license handling feature.
To update the license:
1. Open the Gateway Management function.
2. Click the Update License button.
3. Browse the new license file and click Open.
The new license can be updated with engineering computer. The license is Gateway
specific and the Gateway computer verifies the compatibility of the license. Also the
servers and clients verifies the license.

Diagnostics

The Communication Engineering Tool (CET) provides comprehensive functions for
diagnosing the operation of the Gateway. This includes communication diagnostics
with monitoring the communication channel diagnostic counters as well as IED
specific communication status and diagnostic counters. It is also possible to monitor
and control process data and follow the data flow on the Gateway using diagnostic
functions of the CET.
