Operation

About this section

This section gives a brief introduction to the basic operation procedures in the COM
610 Gateway.

Gateway Management

The Gateway Management function enables to transfer the configurations of the
objects to the Gateway computer.
To open the Gateway Management function, right-click the Gateway object in the
COM 610 Communication Engineering Tool (CET) and select Management. To
transfer and activate the configuration, click the respective buttons, see Fig. 5.2.-1.
• To copy the configurations of all servers and clients to the Gateway computer,
click Update configuration.
• To restart all servers and clients with the latest configurations, click Reload
configuration.
• To transfer only the changed configurations and to restart only the changed server
or client with new configurations, click Update & reload configuration.

License handling

When the Gateway Management function is opened you can see under the License
information field the information on Gateway specific license, see Fig. 5.2.-1. The
customer can specify the license determinations when ordering the Communication
Gateway COM 610. The license is predefined when the Gateway computer is hand
over to the customer. The information in the Gateway Management function
describes the instance that owns the license, product revision and the protocols that
are supported by the license. The customer can order the protocols that are needed.
