COD3 Plus Colorimeter 10.16
Water and boiler water, industrial waste water.
0.00–1.00 ppm Hydrazine
0.01 ppm
p-Dimethylaminobenzaldehyde reacts with hydrazine
under acidic conditions to form a yellow color in proportion
to the amount of hydrazine present.
Samples should be analyzed as soon as possible after
collection due to the ease with which hydrazine becomes
oxidized. Acidifi cation of the sample may increase the time
between collection and analysis.
The substances normally present in water do not interfere
with the test, with the exception of strong oxidizing agents.
