Troubleshooting

Before Calling for Help
If the unit appears to be malfunctioning, read through the "Operation" section of this manual
first. If the problem persists, check the Troubleshooting Guide below. The problem may be
something that can easily be solved or explained.
Symptoms
The unit is not functioning at
all and shows no signs of
power.
The unit is making strange
noises.
The unit is making a loud
continuous metallic knocking
or pinging sound.
The unit runs for a little while,
then trips the power cord or
the circuit breaker.
The control panel lights blink
randomly.
The unit has an OC error.
The unit has a SC error.
The unit has power, but the
compressor does not run.
Possible Causes
The unit is not receiving
power.
There is insufficient power to
the unit.
There is an AC power cord
malfunction.
There is a DC power cord
malfunction.
There is a disconnected wire.
Some noises are normal.
The unit is not level.
The unit may have been
shipped on its side.
The compressor is damaged.
The unit may be plugged into
an outlet that cannot supply
the correct amount of current.
The unit may have a faulty
control panel.
A thermostat error was
detected.
A short circuit in the
thermostat was detected.
The ambient temperature is
too low.
A wire is disconnected.

Solutions
Make sure the unit is plugged
in.
Move the unit to another
outlet. Check your circuit
breaker. Refer to the rating
label on the back of the unit to
determine the Amperage
draw.
Test the unit with a different
cord. If the unit works, replace
the damaged AC cord.
Test the unit with another
power supply, such as
another vehicle with a known
working DC power outlet.
Contact customer service.
Check the "Normal Sounds"
section.
Move the unit to a level
surface.
Shut the unit off. Let the unit
sit on a level surface for at
least 24 hours and then
restart it.
Contact customer service.
Contact an electrician if the
unit works in a different room
or circuit.
