It is strongly recommended that each operator (driver) read and understand this entire manual before operating the trolling motor.

    TROLLING MOTOR INSTALLATION AND OPERATION Transom Mount Installation NOTE: The R5 trolling motor will fit transoms up to 7.62 cm (3 in.) thick. 1. Place the trolling motor on the transom of the boat. 2. Tighten the transom clamp screws securely by hand. Do not overtighten the transom clamp screws.

Keep away from moving parts when stowing, deploying, or tilting the motor. 1. To change the drive angle or tilt the trolling motor, push down on the tilt lock release lever while simultaneously pulling on the trolling motor head/column.

    TROLLING MOTOR INSTALLATION AND OPERATION Adjusting the Trolling Motor Depth CAUTION Avoid injury due to the sudden shifting of weight when deploying the motor or adjusting the motor depth. When raising or lowering the motor, firmly grasp the motor column with one hand before loosening the depth collar knob. Adjusting the depth of the motor improves trolling motor performance in various water depths.
