Chapter 1. Introduction

The ThinkAgile HX 1521-R, HX3521-G, HX5521, HX5521-C, HX7521 Certified Node servers are 2U rack
servers that are fully qualified and that come with VMware ESXi or AHV hypervisors preinstalled. It is
designed to simplify IT operations and management for customers through predefined server configurations
that are optimized around specific types of workloads, while conforming to best practices and compliance
guidelines for Nutanix.
Note: A Nutanix cluster requires a minimum of three or more servers, with the exception of HX1321 and
HX1521 series servers. The best practice is to use three or more servers of the same machine type and
configuration to provide a balanced and high-performance solution.
In addition, the server is designed to utilize the Lenovo system management tools to create a unified
hardware management solution for Nutanix deployments:
• Lenovo XClarity Administrator, which provides firmware compliance functionality to ensure that the
ThinkAgile HX 1521-R, HX3521-G, HX5521, HX5521-C, HX7521 Certified Node servers are running the
