Connecting the SY164 to a Sylvania Observation System
In this configuration, the cameras are already connected directly to the observation system monitor. To add
the SY164 DVR to the system, use the supplied 4 x RCA cable and the RCA to BNC adapters as described
below.
• Attach the BNC to RCA adapters on the CH1-CH4 connectors
found on the Observation System.
• Attach the BNC to RCA adapters on the CH1-CH4 connectors
found on the SY164 DVR.
• Using the 4xRCA cable, make the connection between the
monitor and the DVR
• Connect the RCA cable from the VCR/DVR IN input on the DVR to the Video Out input on the Observation
System Monitor

To view recorded video from the SY164 DVR:
• Switch to DVR mode by pressing the DVR button on the Observation System Monitor
• Navigate through the recorded events using the Menu system on the Observation System. See Page 22
for further details on Menu navigation
