Introduction The SY17TD8144-A is a 17-inch, Flat Screen thin-film transistor (TFT) LCD color monitor with integrated 4-channel Digital Video Recorder. Capable of resolutions up to 1280 x 1024, this advanced monitor produces crisp, clear pictures and brilliant colors. The integrated DVR features M-JPEG compression and allows recording of up to 4 video sources with an overall frame rate of 30fps.
Installation 1. The monitor comes with both a desk mount stand and rack mount ears. If using the desk mount, secure the mount to the bottom of the monitor using the screws provided (Fig 1.0). If rack mounting, secure the rack mount ears to each side of the monitor using the included screws (Fig 1.1).
Getting Started 1. Ensure that all connections have been made as shown in the previous section. Press the Power Button on the front of the unit. 2. Upon Powering Up, a message will appear “Please Check HDD Key Lock before Turn ON”.

Pan / Tilt / Zoom Control and Connections The DVR supports the control of a single Pan/Tilt/Zoom camera on Channel 1. Currently only PTZ camera’s using the ‘Pelco D’ protocol may be used. 1) Connect a compatible PTZ camera to Channel 1 2) Connect the RS-485 control wires to the RS-485 terminals on the back of the monitor.
Entering the Sub Menu Pressing and holding the MENU button for 2 seconds access’s the Main Menu. Use the UP/DOWN buttons to scroll between menu items. The ENTER button is used to select a section and enter its sub-menu. To change a toggle option, use the ENTER key to enable/disable.
2. SEQUENCE SET - QUAD 03 sec Select the amount of time the unit will stay on each screen when the unit is in Sequence mode. 03 sec Valid dwell times are 00 – 59 seconds. Setting a channel to 00 03 sec will remove that channel from the sequence.

Secondary (Slave) Hard Drive The Master HDD is the removable drive accessible on the side of the monitor. On the back of the monitor there is an IDE-SUB input for connecting another HDD to serve as a backup to the Master HDD, providing extra storage space. To connect a Slave HDD, you will need an External IDE drive with a built-in power supply.
