Remote Controller
(MENU 3-3-1)
Using this menu, you can set the phone to act as a
remote controller.
Note: you can quickly enter this menu by pressing
and holding
in Standby mode.
To set up as a remote controller:
1. Select ROOM, LIVING, or ETC. using
and press
.
You can designate the area in which the device
the phone will control is located.
2. Use the Navigation keys to select the item you
want to control and press
3. Select the manufacturer of the item and press
.
4. Enter the number you want using
set the number you want to use. Repeat this
step to add more numbers.
5. Align the IrDA port on the phone with the item
you want to control.
6. When you are finished, press
To deactivate remote control:
1. Select ROOM, LIVING, or ETC. using

2. Select the item you want to deactivate and press

3. Select one of the following options and press

• Disable: allows you to deactivate the selected
items.
• Disable All: allows you to deactivate all of the
items you have registered.
4. When a confirmation message displays, select
Yes and press

While you are using the phone as a remote
controller, you can use other remote controllers you
have set up by pressing
and then pressing

to scroll to the remote controller you want to
use. If you close the phone while using your phone
as a remote controller, the remote control function
does not deactivate.
Notes:
• When a call come in while you are using your phone
as a remote controller, press
• You can turn on or off all of the machines you have
registered to be remotely controlled by the phone at
one time. Select the space you want to control and
press
.
• It should be noted that the remote control feature of
the cellular phone is not based on any cooperation
between SAMSUNG and the companies
manufacturing and/or importing the devices
supported by the remote control. Therefore, one
should not contact such companies for support or
warranty with respect to the remote control feature
incorporated in the cellular phone. Moreover Suny
and/or SAMSUNG do not assume and responsibility
with connection to the operation of the cellular
phone as a remote control and the user himself will
be solely responsible for any effect on the operated
devices which the use of the remote control feature
incorporated in the cellular phone may have,
including sole responsibility for the relationship
between the user and the companies from which the
