Getting started
Lock mode
When you lock your phone using the Lock Phone
menu (MENU 8-6-2), you cannot use the phone. In
Lock mode, you can receive messages and calls, but
you cannot place a call or use the phone's menu
functions.
To unlock the phone temporarily, press
enter the lock code.

Silent mode
Silent mode disables all sounds on the phone. This
feature is best used in situations where the phone
might disturb others, such as in a meeting, in a
library, or in a theater. Your phone can be set to
Silent mode with a press of a key in Standby mode.
To enter Silent mode, press and hold
"Silent mode enabled" and the Vibration icon (
appear.
To exit and reactivate the previous sound settings,
press and hold
until "Silent mode disabled"
appears. The Vibration icon no longer displays.

Call functions

Making a call

To make a call:
1. In Standby mode, enter the area code and
phone number.
While entering a phone number, press
insert a hard pause. For further details about
pause dialing, see page 31.
2. Press
. The phone places the call to the
entered phone number.
Note: You can press and hold the number key
corresponding to the last digit of the phone
number to begin dialing.
