    Your phone is powered by a rechargeable Li-ion battery. Use only approved batteries and chargers. Ask your local Samsung dealer for further details. Note: You must fully charge the battery before using your phone for the first time. A discharged standard battery recharges fully in approximately 200 minutes.

  • Page 11 Getting started Using the Desktop Holder Using the desktop holder, you can charge the battery. The phone can be used while the battery is charging, but this increases the time it takes to charge your battery. To get the quickest charge for any battery, turn off the phone.

    Getting started Lock mode When you lock your phone using the Lock Phone menu (MENU 8-6-2), you cannot use the phone. In Lock mode, you can receive messages and calls, but you cannot place a call or use the phone’s menu functions.

    Call functions Ending a call When you want to finish your call, press The call time, or the length of the call, displays, along with the phone number of the other party. If the number is stored in your Phonebook, the name displays.

    Phonebook The Phonebook menu allows you to: • find a Phonebook entry. • view records of the calls you have made, received, or missed. • store names, each having up to 5 different numbers, and access them easily. • specify the phone to alert you in a distinctive way when you receive a call from an individual or a group number stored in your Phonebook.

    Phonebook By Number (MENU 1-1-2) This menu allows you to access a Phonebook entry by entering a phone number. 1. Enter the phone number you want and press 2. Follow step 3 in “By Name” on page 55. By Location (MENU 1-1-3) This menu allows you to find a stored number by entering its speed dial number.

    Phonebook On the call list or details view, press to access the following options: Save: allows you to save the number in Phonebook. Delete: deletes the selected call record. Delete All: allows you to deletes all call records. This option is only available when you are looking at the call list.

    Phonebook Call Alert (MENU 1-6) If the caller line identification service is available, you can set the phone to alert you to an incoming call from a specific person by using a distinctive ringer or displaying an image. Edit Number (MENU 1-6-1) You can change the caller ID image or ringer for a Phonebook entry.

Once you select a topic, your phone sends a query with the code associated with the selected topic, and the server will send you the requested information in an SMS message.

When the phone receives a message, an alert sounds, and a text notification displays along with the New Message icon ( ).
