1.

USING THE REMOTE CONTROL

i.
To use the remote control, slide open the battery compartment cover on the
reverse of the remote control.
ii.
Insert 1 x AA 1.5V battery (supplied) in accordance with the diagram in the
battery compartment. Take care to observe the correct polarity (+/-) marked
in the battery compartment and refit the cover.
iii.
Do not expose the battery or the installed batteries to excessive heat (e.g.
fire, sunshine or position close to radiators etc.).
iv.
To use the remote control, ensure that the main unit is plugged in and
switched on at the rear of the main unit. Point the infrared transmitter on the
remote control towards the remote control sensor on the main unit and select
the function button of choice. Point remote control unit no more than 6m from
the remote sensor and at an angle of no greater than 30°.
BATTERY SAFETY AND DISPOSAL:
CAUTION – Danger of explosion if batteries are incorrectly fitted / replaced.
Only use 'AA' 1.5V batteries in this appliance.
Be sure to insert correctly taking care to observe the correct polarity (+ and -).
Use only battery of the same or equivalent type as recommended.
Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
Remove rechargeable battery from appliance before recharging.
Never try to dismantle batteries.
Do not short-circuit the supply terminals.
Always remove exhausted or dead batteries from the product.
Remove battery from the product before extended storage.
Dispose of used battery responsibly at local authority household waste recycling facility.
DO NOT dispose of battery in a fire as the battery may explode.

6. SETTING THE CLOCK

The clock in this hifi is equipped to receive a DAB radio frequency time signal. After the unit has been
turned on, it will automatically tune into a DAB radio station (see below) and update the clock. It may be
necessary to wait for 1-2 minutes to allow the unit to receive the time signal

Plug in, switch on the appliance at the mains and at the switch on the rear of the unit, the red standby
indicator will illuminate and the display will show. "00:00 and scan time"
vi.
If a DAB signal can received in the area of operation after a short time the clock will automatically synchronise
to the local time and then the hi-fi will enter standby mode.
vii.
If the area will only receive an FM signal it will be necessary to manually set the clock, to manually set the
clock
viii.
In standby mode, press the CLOCK button on the remote, the hour digits will flash in the display, press the
SKIP / TUNE SEARCH (" or !) buttons to set the correct hour, then press the CLOCK button again to
confirm.
ix.
The minute digits will now flash, use the SKIP / TUNE SEARCH (" or !) buttons to set the correct minute.
x.
When the display shows the correct time, press the CLOCK button again to accept and exit the set mode.
The display will return to standby mode and the clock will not be

Each of the above steps need to be completed within 10 seconds of pressing the button, otherwise the
screen will clear.

BASIC OPERATION - GETTING STARTED

i.
The operations of the hi-fi may be selected either by using the buttons on the remote control or in some cases
by using buttons on the front of the main unit. For clarity the instructions from this point forward will refer only
to the controls on the remote control.
ii.
Plug in, switch on the appliance at the mains
iii.
Press the STANDBY / ON (
radio mode.
iv.
The first time the radio is connected to the supply the backlight will illuminate, a welcome message will appear
in the display, DAB mode will automatically be selected and the radio will perform a scan.
v.
When the scan is finished the radio will play the first alphanumerically found station.
vi.
To search the stations that have been found, press the SKIP / TUNE SEARCH ("or!) buttons until the station
of choice is located.
