Checking Coolant Level

The coolant reservoir with filler
neck is arranged away from the
radiator. To replenish coolant, the
car must be on level ground.
Do not remove pressure cap on
coolant reservoir if engine tempera
ture is above 90° C /194° F. Allow
engine to cool down before remov
ing cap. The coolant reservoir con
tains hot water and is under pres
sure.
First turn cap to first notch to
relieve excess pressure using a
rag. If opened immediately, hot
scalding fluid and steam will be
blown out under pressure.
If a small amount of coolant has to
be added (due to evaporation of
water), plain water can be added.
If a larger quantity of coolant has to
be added, a 50/50 mixture of water
and antifreeze should be used.
The coolant level must reach:
• the mark indicated on the reser
voir when the coolant is cold.

0.8
• approximately

The drain plugs are situated on the

the radiator bottom.
