Shift Cabme
Ifthe fuiIrange o fspeeds (forward and reverse) cannot beachieved,
refer tothe figure t othe right and adjust the shift c abb asfollows:
1. Place t he shift bver i nthe fastest (F6) f orward speed p osition.
2. Loosen the hexnut o nthe shift cabb index b racket. See Figure
19.
3. Pivot the bracket downward
totake upslack i nthe cabb.
4. Refightenthehex
nut.
Drive Controm
When t he drive c ontrol isreleased and inthe disengaged
"up" p osition,
the cable s hould have v ery little slack, itshould NOT b etight. ABe,
ifthere i sexcessive
slack i nthe drive cable o rifthe unit e xperiences
intermittent
drive w hile u sing, the cable m ay n eed t obeadjusted.
Check the adjustment
ofthe drive c ontrol asfollows:
1. With the drive c ontrol release& push t he snow thrower gently
forward. The unit s hould roll f reely.
2. Engage the drive c ontrol and gently a ttempt topush t he snow
thrower forward. The wheels should not t urn. The unit s hould not
roll f reely.
3. With the drive c ontrol released,
move t he shift l ever back a nd
forth between theR2 position and the F6position several times.
There s hould benoresistance
inthe shift lever.
4. ifany ofthe above tests f ailed, the drive c able i sinneed o fadjust-
menL P roceed asfollows:
5. Loosen the lower hex bolt o nthe drive c able b rackeL See Figure
20.
6. Position the bracket upward toprovide more s lack ( ordownward
toincrease cable t ension).

the lower hex boil
Chute Bracket

engaging
with the chute a ssembly,
the chute b racket can beadjusted.
To doso:
1_ Loosen the two nuts which s ecure the chute b racket and reposi-
tion itslightly_
See Figure 21_
2_ Retighten
the nuts.
