1.
Removechokecontrolknoband safety key.
2.
Loosenand removethe mountingscrewsfromthe snow hood.
See Figure14.
3.
Slowlyremovethe snow hood,makingsurethat the primerbulb
hoseand ignitionwireremainconnected.See Figure14 inset.
4.
Removeand inspectspark plug.
5.
Replacesparkplug if porcelainis crackedor if electrodesare
pitted,burnedor fouledwith deposits.
6.
Checkelectrodegap with a feelergaugeand set gap to .030
(O]6mm) if necessary.See Figure15.
7.
Reinstallspark plugand tightensecurely.
8.
Remountthe snowhoodto the enginewith themountingscrews,
againmakingsurethe primerbulb hoseand ignitionwireare
connected.
9.
Connectthe chokecontrolknobto thechoke shafton the
carburetor,if the chokecontrol knobis not installedcorrectly,the
chokewill notoperate.
10. instal the safetykey.
NOTE:A resistorsparkplug mustbe usedfor replacement. C ontacta
SearsPartsand RepairCenteror 1-8004-MYoHOME@ for a replace-
ment sparkplug,Champion@ partnumberRC12YC.
Carburetor
