Operating the ElectroCoupler with the FlyerChief remote

I
n FlyerChief remote mode, hold down the Announcement/Shift button and press the Horn/
ElectroCoupler button to open the ElectroCoupler on the front of the engine. Hold down the
Announcement/Shift button and press the Bell/ElectroCoupler button to open the ElectroCoupler on
the rear of the engine.
Note!
Keep in mind that it's easier to couple cars on a straight stretch of track.

Operating multiple FlyerChief locomotives

Y
ou may choose to operate more than one FlyerChief locomotive at the same time—including
locomotives of the same type (e.g., two GP7s with different road names and/or road numbers).
Each locomotive is paired with a unique remote. A locomotive will only respond to commands from
its corresponding remote. You can also use the Universal LionChief Remote (6-83071) to control this
and two additional FlyerChief locomotives.
If you attempt to operate two of the exact same locomotives (same type, roadname, and Lionel part
number), then one remote will control both locomotives simultaneously.

Triggering sounds and announcements with the FlyerChief remote

P
ress the announcement on the FlyerChief remote to trigger the corresponding sounds. Your
locomotive plays a variety of announcements that are designed to match the way you operate the
locomotive. You can trigger an announcement that corresponds to each part of the journey. See page
16 to adjust the volume level.
