  • Page 3 Installing the 153C Contactor for train activation he 153C Contactor is activated by the weight of a passing train. If you would like your trains to activate the accessory, place the Contactor under your traditional S gauge track, as shown in Figure 1.
  • Page 4 Wiring your accessory to a power source our accessory operates best at 14-18 volts (AC). Have an adult strip 1⁄4" of insulation from both ends of the wires included with the accessory, if they have not already been stripped. Only an adult should perform this task. Always use care when stripping wires. Caution! Connect one wire to each spring clip terminal on the base.

Power up your layout. 2. Stop the train several sections away from the Contactor so that it does not press on the Contactor plate.

While the 153C Contactor relies on the weight of the train to activate the accessory, the 153IR Controller is triggered by an infrared motion sensor. The 153IR also allows you to set the length of time that the accessory remains on.
