Communication Types

The following types of communication can be used to transfer the monitored
information from the inverter to the SolarEdge Monitoring Server:
RS232 (UART): page 69, This communication option is provided in all
inverters by default. It is used to connect to any external modem that has an
RS232 port.
Ethernet: page 70, Enables the connection of the inverter directly to a LAN.
RS485: page 75, Enables the connection of multiple inverters through the
same bus, such that connecting only one inverter to the Internet is sufficient
to provide communication services to all the inverters on the bus.
NOTE:
RS485 connection is not available on the SE3000.
NOTE:
In addition, there are three types of wireless communication options that are
available and purchased separately. They are: ZigBee, WiFi and GSM. Refer to
relevant documentation for details about their installation.
