Installing the PCI riser board assembly

CAUTION:
remove all AC power cords before removing or installing the PCI riser board assembly.
Power down the server (on page 26).

Remove the access panel

Remove the upper tray
3.
Install the expansion board
4.
Install the PCI riser board assembly in the server, and tighten the thumbscrews.
5.
Replace the upper tray

Replace the access panel

Hard drive options

The server supports up to 12 SAS or SATA hard drives. Always populate hard drive bays starting with the
lowest device number

SAS and SATA hard drive guidelines

When adding hard drives to the server, observe the following general guidelines:
The system automatically sets all device numbers.
If only one hard drive is used, install it in the bay with the lowest device number.
Drives must be the same capacity to provide the greatest storage space efficiency when drives are
grouped together into the same drive array.
NOTE:
To prevent damage to the server or expansion boards, power down the server and
