IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS APPLIANCE.
When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following:
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
WARNING:
1. Do not leave appliance unattended when plugged in. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before
servicing.
2. WARNING: ELECTRIC SHOCK COULD OCCUR IF USED OUTDOORS OR ON WET SURFACES.
3. Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.
4. Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer's recommended attachments.
5. Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped,
damaged, left outdoors or dropped into water, return it to a service center. Wrapping the cord too
tightly puts stress on the cord and can cause cord damage. A damaged cord is an electrical shock
hazard and could cause personal injury or damage.
6. WARNING: The replacement or repair of damaged wiring should only be performed by a qualified
electrician or service engineer from the original distributor or authorized service agent.
7. Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp
edges or corners. Do not run appliance over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
8. Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug and pull straight out of electrical outlet.
9. Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
10. Turn off all controls before unplugging.
11. Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint,
hair and anything that may reduce air flow.
12. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers and all parts of the body away from openings and moving parts.
13. Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches or hot ashes.
14. Do not use without vacuum bag and filters in place.
15. Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
16. Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids such as gasoline or use in areas where they
may be present.
17. Do not attempt to service the unit while appliance is plugged in.
18. Do not allow vacuum cleaner to remain in one spot for any length of time when the brushroll is
turning. Damage to carpet may occur.
19. Do not touch the brushroll when vacuum cleaner is on.
20. For grounded three-wire polarized plug models, connect to a properly grounded outlet only. See
