SHIFT/WIDTH Knob
Zero (Center) Adjustment
 Press and hold in the [1.8(1)], [3.5(2)], and [7(3)]
keys, while turning the radio on, to enter the
alignment mode.
 Set the SHIFT/WIDTH knobs to the 12-o'clock-
position.
 Set the operating mode to "USB".
 Press and hold in the [1.8(1)], [3.5(2)], and [7(3)]
keys, while turning the radio on, to enter the
alignment mode.
 Rotate the Main Tuning Dial knob to select the
alignment parameter "1-05 SHIFT-CAL".
 Rotate the [CLAR(VFO-B)] knob so that the
IFSHIFT frequency is set to "±0.00" on the dis-
play. The center point (±0.00) is broad. There-
fore, set the [CLAR(VFO-B)] knob tothe center
of this broad range.
 Rotate the Main Tuning Dial knob to select the
alignment parameter "1-06 WIDTH-CAL".
 Rotate the [CLAR(VFO-B)] knob so that the IF-
bandwidth is set to "2400" on the external dis-
play. The IF bandwidth (2400) is broad. There-
fore, set the [CLAR(VFO-B)] knob tothe center
of this broad range.
 Press and hold in the [MENU] button for one
second to save the new setting and exit the
alignment mode.
COMP Meter Adjustment
 Press and hold in the [1.8(1)], [3.5(2)], and [7(3)]
keys, while turning the radio on, to enter the
alignment mode.
 Rotate the Main Tuning Dial knob to select
the alignment parameter "24-02 COMP-MTR-
10dB", then rotate the [CLAR(VFO-B)] knob for
"10 dB" on the COMP meter.
 Rotate the Main Tuning Dial knob to select
the alignment parameter "24-03 COMP-MTR-
20dB", then rotate the [CLAR(VFO-B)] knob for
"20 dB" on the COMP meter.
 Rotate the Main Tuning Dial knob to select
the alignment parameter "24-04 COMP-MTR-
30dB", then rotate the [CLAR(VFO-B)] knob so
that the COMP meter deflects to full scal.
 Press and hold in the [MENU] button for one
second to save the new setting and exit the
alignment mode.
