3 Operation and Configuration
Additional Information
The Counter Output Patterns of Counters which are configured to use no (i.e. zero) Ranges, are
ignored in the AND-calculation of the Unit Output Pattern. Like this, Counters that you do not
want to use, do not influence the AND-calculation of the Unit Output Pattern. If both the Counters
are configured to use no Ranges, the output patterns for both outputs will be all OFF.

Comparison Mode

If the Unit is configured to control the Outputs in Comparison Mode, this Mode can be applied to Circu-
lar Counters or Linear Counters (refer to section 3-2-1 Circular Counter and section 3-2-2 Linear Coun-
ter for more information).
