License Management System (LMS)

Optional software features are preinstalled on all new units. To activate the
software programs, the feature must be licensed through the License
Management System (LMS) server. This replaces the need for additional
hardware or dongles to activate new software.
The LMS is a server based software license program. Each purchased
software application package contains a license access number certificate
with the documentation. The Dealer must enter the license access number
and the imageRUNNER ADVANCE serial number into the LMS server to
generate a license Key. The LMS Server can be accessed through URL:
http://www.canon.com/lms/ir/.
If there are activation or installation problems contact the Technical Support
Center. Be prepared to provide the product serial number, license access
number, and license key.
Note:
• The software is preinstalled on the imageRUNNER ADVANCE device,
only a valid license key will enable the software feature (no additional
packaged software is available or required).
• The license access number is packaged with the purchased software
option. Lost license access will not be replaced.
• The imageRUNNER ADVANCE device serial number can be found in the
"counter check" screen.
• Activated software programs will not be impacted by normal service
activity (e.g., HDD replacement).
