Unpacking the Chassis
Unpacking the Chassis
The 7705 SAR-M chassis has no field-replaceable parts, other than the compact flash. The
chassis is the only piece of hardware packed in its shipping container.
Caution: Only qualified installers following ESD practices should access the compact flash
device. All power to the chassis must be disconnected while attempting to access the
compact flash device. The access cover must be fully secured in place before power is
applied to the chassis.

detach all cables from the router

→ 7.5 lbs (3.4 kg) for variants that are actively cooled
→ 8.8 lbs (4.0 kg) for variants that are passively cooled
•
The chassis is shipped in a heavy corrugated cardboard container and is encased in a
foam tray. It is acceptable to discard the packaging container in accordance with local
practices for disposal and recycling.
Note: It may be desirable to save a small quantity of undamaged original packaging
containers and materials for reuse. For example, the packaging container could be reused
for shipment of a 7705 SAR-M to a Repair Center or for future relocation.
•
Keep the chassis wrapped in the anti-static packaging until you are ready to install
the router.
