•
The Temperature Classes, a function of the ambient and fluid temperatures, is listed in the EU-Type Examination Certificate.
•
The supply voltage value for the converter is listed on the Name Plate.
•
The Ignition Type for the output circuits is defined by the external circuits connected. It can be configured as all „intrinsically safe" or
„non-intrinsically safe". A combination of „intrinsically safe" and „non-intrinsically safe" is not permissible. The test voltage for the
output circuits for both Ignition Types is U
•
The safety specifications for intrinsically safe circuits may be found in the EU-Type Examination Certificate.
•
Care should be exercised to assure that the cover over the supply power connections is correctly installed. For intrinsically safe
output circuits the connection area may be opened.
•
It is recommend that the cable connectors, included with the shipment, used for the output circuits correspond to the Ignition
Type: intrinsically safe → light blue; non-intrinsically safe → black.
•
The flowmeter primary and the converter housing are to be connected to Potential Equalization.
For intrinsically safe circuits, Potential Equalization is to be maintained along the entire circuit.
•
The interior of the meter pipe for all flowmeter primaries in sizes DN 50 to DN150 [2" to 6"] is classified Category 1 (Zone 0), that for
meter sizes ≤ DN 40 [1-1/2"] only corresponds to Category 2 (Zone 1). The Temperature Classes as a function of the ambient and
maximum fluid temperatures are listed in the table.
•
If the flowmeter primary is to be insulated, the max, insulation thickness is 100 mm.
The converter housing may not be insulated.
•
The corrosion resistance of the meter pipe materials to the fluid must be considered.
