Installing CBM for RAID Models

The CBM consists of a BBU and FBM. The CBM can sustain the cache memory in
the event of a power failure or in the extremely unlikely event of both PSUs failing
simultaneously. Use of a CBM is highly recommended in order to safeguard data
integrity. The CBM is an optional item for the single-controller model and can be pur-
chased from your system vendor. The CBM must be installed on the controller before
rack-mounting the system.
Note!
Dual-controller model's BBU and FBM are pre-installed!
Dual-controller systems are equipped with the BBU pre-installed in the
system. A FBM may be provided by default or as an optional item. For
further details, please refer to CBM for RAID Models.
For single-controller models, the CBM (BBU + FBM) will be pre-installed
if ordered as a part of the system. If the CBM is purchased afterwards as
an upgrade component, please read and follow the instructions in this
section carefully.
