- Automatic* recircu lation mode: aut o recircula-
tion needs to be activated in the Infotainment
system. Select in the Infota inment system:
IMENU I
button> Vehicle > left control button
>Vehicle settings > Air conditioning > Auto re-
circulation. The air quality sensor that is de-
s igned for diesel and gasoline exhaust auto-
matically switches the recircu lation mode on or
off depend ing on the level of pollutant s in the
o utside ai r.
In recirculation mode, the a ir inside the vehicle is
circulated and filtered . This prevents the unfil-
tered a ir outside the vehicle from e ntering the
vehicle interior. We recommend switc hing recir-
culat ion mode on when driving th rough a tun nel
or when sitting in t raffic <::> .&..
Recirc ulation mode is switched off by pressing
the

button or

Switching defrost on and off
The windshield and s ide windows are defrosted
or cleared of condensation as q uickly as possible.
The optimum amou nt of a ir flows mainly out of
the vents under the windshield . Recirculatio n
mod e switches off. The temperature is controlled
automatically.
The

button switches the defroster off.

Switching the rear window defogger
on and off
If the rear window defogger is activated when
the ign ition is switched on, the battery manage-
ment determ ines based on the battery charge if
it is possible t o t urn on . Othe rwise, the rear wi n-
dow defogger functions with the engine run ning
and switches off automatically after approxi-
mately 10 - 20 mi nutes, depending on the out-
side temperature.
To prevent the rear window defogger from
switching off automatically, press and hold the
lliill
REARI
button for more than 2 seconds. This re-
mains stored up to approximately lS minutes af-
ter turning off the ignition.

WARNING
You should not use the recirc ulation mode for
an extended period si nce no fres h ai r is drawn
in. With t he air-conditioning switched off, the
windows can fog up, which increases t he risk
of an acci dent.

To adjust the direction of air flow, turn the

To adjust the amount of air flow, move the lever
@ on the a ir vent. To stop the air flow, move the
lever all the way to the left.
Seat heating

The seat heating has three levels. The selected
heat level is indicated by the LED.
